Start the day off right with a hot breakfast and some food for thought.  Tom Sellig will present "Biopharma - CRO Strategic Partnerships: The Future of Drug Development" in which he will discuss:

  • How/why the industry is changing,
  • The evolution of CROs and the state of the industry today,
  • Examples of pharma-CRO partnerships in big pharma and in small biotech, and
  • How Covance’s Chandler facility supports growth in program management relationships.

Tom Sellig, MBA
Vice President, Alliance Management
Tom Sellig, MBA, is Vice President of Alliance Management for Strategic Partnering & Integrated Drug Development, where he builds and maintains long-term relationships with biopharmaceutical clients, such as GlaxoSmithKline, to ensure R&D success.  By developing customized solutions and governance structures that leverage and integrate various Covance assets, Mr. Sellig helps biopharmaceutical companies streamline their drug development programs to reduce R&D costs and increase productivity.
 
With more than two decades of pharmaceutical and biotechnology experience, including multiple therapeutic areas, he has developed strategies and programs for products in all phases of product lifecycle.   Most recently, he was Vice President of Business Development at Ventana Clinical Research, a phase I unit focused on CNS drug development.   He also developed marketing strategies and programs for many of the world's leading pharmaceutical and biotech brands, and has held various marketing and sales management positions at Ascent Pediatrics, Wyeth and Procter & Gamble.
