AZBio will honor Carol Bender, MSSS, of the University of Arizona as the Michael A. Cusanovich Arizona Bioscience Educator of the Year at the 2017 AZBio Awards for her success in encouraging students to pursue careers in the life sciences.

The AZBio Board of Directors have elected Sergio Gazic of BioAccel, Richard Bowen of Northern Arizona University, and Galen Perry of TGen to serve as part of the AZBio leadership team.

Salutaris Medical Devices, Inc. announces start of a clinical trial investigating the SMD-DA ophthalmic device for the treatment of neovascular Age-related Macular Degeneration (nAMD)

The trial, “A prospective study of episcleral brachytherapy for the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration”, has the primary objective to determine the safety, including surgeon ease of use and subject tolerability, of the SMD-DA system concomitant with an anti-VEGF treatment regimen.

Corporate Growth Spurs Major Phoenix Expansion for Pinnacle Transplant Technologies

Pinnacle Transplant Technologies is expanding its Phoenix headquarters as part of its ongoing mission to improve lives around the world. The company will be adding 15,000 square feet of administrative office space by the end of September 2017 and plans to dedicate its existing facility entirely toward the production of its innovative products.
