Congressman Paul Gosar, DDS Arizona’s 4th Congressional DistrictCongressman Paul Gosar is a health care provider and small business owner who is focused on bringing jobs back to the district, reforming health care, reining in government spending and ensuring that his constituents are involved in the solution process. Raymond DuBois, M.D., Ph.D. Executive Director, The Biodesign Institute at Arizona State UniversityRaymond DuBois is an internationally renowned physicianscientist whose research has advanced the understanding of the molecular basis for the prevention of colon cancer. Dr. DuBois joined our Arizona Bioscience Community as the executive director of Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute on December 1, 2012. DuBois also holds the Dalton Chair in ASU’s College of Health Solutions with joint appointments in chemistry and biochemistry. In addition, he has a joint appointment with Mayo Clinic, coleading the cancer prevention program.

Co-Founder, Chief Scientific and Medical Officer, Marvin J. Slepian, M.D. is Professor of Medicine (Cardiology & Biomedical Engineering), Director of Interventional Cardiology and Director of the Tissue Engineering Lab at the University of Arizona. On Feb. 18, 2013, he was inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows, which is comprised of the top two percent of medical and biological engineers in the U.S. Dr. Slepian has founded numerous medical device companies, including Focal (NASDAQ-traded, acquired by Genzyme), Endotex, Angiotrax and Hansen Medical, and has served as acting CEO and Board Member of several medical device startups. SynCardia Systems, Inc. (Tucson, AZ) is the privately-held manufacturer of the world’s first and only FDA, Health Canada and CE (Europe) approved Total Artificial Heart. The company was formed in 2001 by world-renowned heart surgeon Jack G. Copeland, MD, interventional cardiologist Marvin J. Slepian, MD, and biomedical engineer Richard G.
