First-of-its-kind instrument officially ushers in new era of X-ray science
“This marks the beginning of a new era of science with compact accelerator-based X‑ray sources,” said Robert Kaindl, who directs ASU’s Compact X-ray Free Electron Laser (CXFEL) Labs at the Biodesign Institute and is a professor in the Department of Physics. “The CXLS provides hard X-ray pulses with high flux, stability and ultrashort durations, in a very compact footprint. This way, matter can be resolved at its fundamental scales in space and time, enabling new discoveries across many fields — from next-generation materials for computing and information science, to renewable energy, biomolecular dynamics, drug discovery and human health.”Continue reading

Tucson, Ariz. (February 1, 2023) – The PGA TOUR Champions, the Tucson Conquistadores, the First Tee Tucson, and Exact Sciences, the maker of Cologuard®, announced today that the Madison, Wisconsin-based company will now be the presenting sponsor of the Cologuard Classic. The announcement also extends Cologuard’s title sponsorship through the 2027 season. In 2022, Arizona established the Arizona Health Innovation Trust Fund as a vehicle to drive the creation of health innovations that can improve quality of life for people of Arizona and increase opportunities for the high quality jobs Arizona Health Innovators create. The FY2023 appropriation was $100,000 to allow the initial set up of the fund. In 2023, two bills at the Arizona Legislature (HB2253 and SB1084) propose a $200 million dollar one-time investment into the Arizona Health Innovation Trust Fund.Continue reading
