Did you know that the Dignity Health and Catholic Health Initiatives combination, CommonSpirit Health, is now the largest nonprofit health system on the US?
The $29 billion system will serve 21 states with more than 700 care locations and 142 hospitals. CommonSpirit Health also includes the research, virtual care and home health capabilities of its founding organizations.

Regenerative Medicine Patch Advances Wound Repair
Cancer remains a leading cause of death globally and is the focus of exhaustive and varied medical research. Many of Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute researchers are working to establish alternative therapies that sidestep the harmful effects of chemotherapy and radiation while improving the success rate for the more difficult-to-treat cancers.
The University of Arizona Cancer Center collaborated with researchers at the Medical University of South Carolina to uncover better ways to harness the immune system to fight cancer.

Banner-ASU Neuroscience Scholars is a paid, eight-week training program open to top-achieving college undergraduate and graduate science students. Scholars work full-time on a research project under the mentorship of a Banner Research or ASU-Biodesign scientist to unlock medical and scientific mysteries in the areas of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases, in a lab setting in the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area.
