BIO History: Scottsdale attorney shares stories from BIO’s early days

BIO was created in 1993 through the merger of the Association of Biotechnology Companies and the Industrial Biotechnology Association. The goal was for the entire industry, from young startups to established companies, to speak with one voice for the industry on important policy issues.  Some of the biggest breakthroughs in the early days came from BIO’s work with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Sustaining Our Future: The Center for Sustainable Health Partners with Piper on Sustainable Aging

The Center for Sustainable Health has launched a major initiative called Sustainable Aging aimed at two powerful and global demographic forces—rapid population aging and plummeting birth rates—that will draw on affordable technology, social innovation and effective behavioral interventions to meet this unprecedented dual challenge, and receives support in the form of a $3 million grant from the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust.

CRITICAL PATH INSTITUTE ANNOUNCES NEW CEO

Tucson, Arizona, February 1, 2012– Critical Path Institute (C-Path) announced today that Dr. Carolyn Compton has joined the organization as its new president and chief executive officer. Dr. Compton takes over for Dr. Raymond L.
