Wednesday, March 22, 2017, Senator Nancy Barto, Health and Human Services Committee Chair, recognized the  work of our researchers, educators, innovators, and healthcare professionals and proclaimed the Week of October 8, 2017 as Arizona Bioscience Week.  
 

Congresswoman Sinema Introduces Fostering Innovation Act

On March 22, 2017, Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema (AZ-09) and Congressman Trey Hollingsworth (IN-09) introduced the Fostering Innovation Act, bipartisan legislation to provide commonsense regulatory relief for companies on the cutting edge of scientific and medical research.

DEA Schedules Insys Therapeutics’ Syndros (dronabinol oral solution) as Schedule II Drug

On March 23, 2017, Insys Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:INSY) (“Insys” or the “Company”)  announced that the Drug Enforcement Agency (“DEA”) has issued an interim final rule that would result in Syndros™ (dronabinol oral solution) being placed in Schedule II of the Controlled Substances Act.

HTG Molecular Diagnostics, Inc. (Nasdaq:HTGM), a provider of instruments, reagents, and services for molecular profiling applications, today announced that it has obtained CE marking in the European Union for its HTG EdgeSeq ALKPlus Assay EU.

NASA, ASU collaboration develops new 3-D tissue culture models with immune cells to better mimic human gut infections

The study was led by Cheryl Nickerson, along with co-authors Jennifer Barrila and Jiseon Yang.
