Moving forward faster. PADT invests in new resources for rapid prototyping.

PADT Increases Prototyping Capacity with Addition of 3D Systems ProJet HD6000 Stereolithography System
TEMPE, AZ – February 8, 2012 –

Phoenix Analysis & Design Technologies, Inc. (PADT) is pleased to announce the latest addition to its growing collection of rapid prototyping machines: a ProJet HD6000 Stereolithography (SLA) machine. Rey Chu, PADT’s Principal in charge of Rapid Manufacturing points out that “The addition of this machine not only doubles our SLA capacity; it is almost twice as fast as our existing SLA system and has greater accuracy. We can now run two different materials at the same time.”

The new Projet HD6000 is the latest generation of SLA systems from 3D Systems. It joins PADT’s Viper Si2 SLA, Sinterstation 2500 Plus Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Connex 500 PolyJet, and a variety of Stratasys FORTUS and Dimension FDM systems. PADT combines these various technologies with a level of customer service that is second to none in the industry. Instead of simply downloading a customer’s file, running it and then shipping it, PADT works directly with the customer to determine the best technology for their application. The parts are also post-processed by experienced technicians.
“We have seen a big increase in jobs over the past year and getting this new machine is really going to help our existing customers get their parts faster. It will also allow me to recommend alternative materials and accuracy settings to our customers.” says Brad Palumbo, Senior Manufacturing Engineer at PADT.

The ProJet HD6000 supports a build volume of 10 x 10 x 10 inches with a resolution range of 0.125 mm (0.005 in) to .075 mm (.003 in). Layer sizes can be as small as 0.050 mm (.002 in). The machine runs the VisiJet materials from 3D Systems that produce a variety of high quality parts. Parts are transparent, strong, flexible, or even resistant to high temperatures.
