Arizona’s life science community gathered at Langham Logistics in Phoenix on April 18, 2024. Attendees toured this state-of- the-art facility that serves the needs of the West Coast’s GMP and pharmaceutical industries, made connections, and learned how they can get engaged in accelerating the growth of Arizona’s life science sector.
Langham Logistics is an Indiana-based warehousing and transportation company with a focus in life sciences. The company offers supply chain management, domestic and international freight services, airport logistics services, and warehouse and fulfillment services in the Midwest and Southwestern United States with a focus on the life sciences industry. The Phoenix warehouse first opened in the fourth quarter of 2020 to provide customized transportation, warehousing, and fulfillment services for the West Coast’s GMP and pharmaceutical industries. It is one day’s drive from the Port of Los Angeles, boasts 151,000 square feet of storage space, and has the capability to store goods at temperature ranges including a CRT space (15°C to 25°C), a walk-in cooler (2°C to 8°C), a walk-in freezer (-30°C), and an ultra-low temperature freezer farm. In 2023, the facility was expanded to include and additional 9,000 controlled room temperature (CRT) pallet positions within its GMP controlled room space.
During guided tours, attendees learned how Langham Logistics uses drone technology to perform cycle and inventory counts while taking flyby pictures, bringing ultimate visibility to the Langham team and their clients.
At the reception, Cathy Langham, founder, President & CEO of Langham Logistics, and Joan Koerber-Walker, President & CEO of AZBio, hopped on a lift and rose up above the crowd to address reception guests, prompting Koerber-Walker to comment that “Arizona’s life science sector is rising up.”

Arizona’s life science sector growth is the result of long term collaborations between academia, industry, philanthropy, and the public sector. People across the Arizona life science ecosystem have embraced the goal of doubling the sector’s economic impact from $38.54 billion in 2021 to $77 billion by 2033.
Koerber-Walker highlighted a way that the community can help accelerate growth by getting engaged with the AZAdvances initiative. With a mission to support the creation and commercialization of Arizona-based health innovations, AZAdvances programs are focused on preparing Arizona students for life science careers, supporting health innovators, and providing mission related investments that can help young companies reach key milestones and attract additional investment as they grow.
Ponte Cura: The Bridge to Cures is the annual event supporting the AZAdvances Initiative. In 2024, Ponte Cura will celebrate the initiatives supporters and reward them for their fundraising efforts. Koerber-Walker let the community know that teams are now forming and encouraged them to get engaged,
